Marietta Solomon

I’m a worldwide artist both illustrator and painter who is always looking for new ways to express myself. I enjoy the idea that form isn’t required for function, but function and form must coexist. If a viewer takes a few moments to look at and think about a piece I’ve created, I’ve done my job well.

Art ranges from abstract, figurative, still life, portrait, and illustration.  Art would not exist if it did not have the potential to materialize an idea or concept. My art is a never-ending quest for the most effective means of expressing the ideas I have about myself and the world in which I live. I’m not bound by any one media, style, or notion. My ideas and inspirations constantly shift.

Each piece I make is both a continuation of where I’ve come from and what I’ve learned in the past, as well as a foreshadowing of where I’m heading in the future.  Painting and figurative drawing are just a few of the conventional art techniques that can be observed in my work. I paint from all aspects of life whether its political, spiritual, and personal.
