Shuntae Goodjoine is currently a community organizer in his hometown of Greenville, SC. When not working, you can find him reading, writing or outside working with animals, especially dogs.

Growing up in a gospel musical family, creativity was encouraged from a young age along with playing multiple sports. Shuntae enjoyed sketching and drawing whatever it was that caught his attention and recalls starting in elementary school. As he has grown older, he says that he often finds beauty in so many things that he took for granted during his youth, especially the strength, brilliance, and beauty of black culture.

Pen and pencil, charcoal and colored pencils have been his primary mediums. Over the past few years, inspired by greats like Ernie Barnes and hometown artists like relatives Propain the Great and James Henry, he has begun to experiment with watercolors, acrylics and oil pastels. Animals, athletes, and black life are his favorite images to create.
