Alfred Crawl is best known for his loose-styled figure sketches and high contrast paintings, “my motivation is simply appreciation for the human being, and all of our subtleties”, he has said. “Our potential is our existence”. He uses heavy shadows to emphasize facial features in portraits, and patchy texture buildups in figurative paintings.

Working primarily with graphite and acrylic, a limited brush selection and painting knives, “I use only a small range of colors and tools, I believe there’s just as much creativity in the manipulation of the tools, that there is in the expression of the idea.” Alfred is native to Atlanta and is a Designer behind many outdoor architectural elements and signage across the Southeastern states.
